Our psychology degree is accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI). The PSI is the professional body for psychology in the Republic of Ireland with accreditation enabling honours graduates of our degree to pursue further professional training in psychology.

Psychology is the fascinating study of the human mind and seeks to understand how we think, act and feel. In this degree you will look at compelling questions such as:

You will cover all the major theoretical perspectives like the theory of Freud, Jung and Pavlov and will be encouraged to apply these theories to the world around you through an interesting range of projects and assignments. Studying psychology will take you through some of the darker and the dazzling aspects of the human condition. This degree will give you an excellent broad knowledge in psychology and the ability to later specialise in the areas you most enjoy.

- 2-3 Advanced Placement Examinations in relevant subjects with grade 3 and above or 2-3 SAT Subject tests in relevant subjects with minimum score of 600

  • Access to Higher EducationDiploma Complete and pass a related subject Access course with 45 credits at level 3 with Merits in all units. (Access to Counselling, Education, Early Years, Criminology and Sociology, Health and Human Science, Health and Social Care, Hospitality, Humanities, Social Sciences, Informal Education, Media and Cultural Studies, Psychology , Primary Teacher Education, Social Work, Teaching, Youth and Community are preferred; however other subjects may be considered on a case-by-case basis).                                           

A minimum of five GCSEs are required, including GCSE English grade C or grade 4. GCSE Mathematics grade C or grade 4 is also normally required.
