Education at Brunel University London is an exciting programme that will equip you with the skills, knowledge and experience to support the next generation of children and young people.

The course combines the study of Education with Professional Practice and is designed to offer a pathway into a range of education professions and post-graduate professional study.

If you are thinking about a career in teaching or in an education-related field – perhaps counseling, educational psychology, social services, local authority work, social work, administration and education management – a degree in education will give you a strong foundation from which to build.

GCE A-level CCC (all subjects considered).

  • BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma DDD in a related subject. Other subjects may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • BTEC Level 3 Diploma DD in a related subject, with an A-Level at grade C. 
  • BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma D in any subject, with A-Levels at grade CC is preferred however 3 BTEC Subsidiary Diplomas can be assessed on an individual basis.
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma 27 points.
  • Access to Higher EducationDiploma Complete and pass a related subject Access course with 45 credits at level 3 with Merits in all units. (Access to Counselling, Education, Early Years, Criminology and Sociology, Health and Human Science, Health and Social Care, Hospitality, Humanities, Social Sciences, Informal Education, Media and Cultural Studies, Psychology , Primary Teacher Education, Social Work, Teaching, Youth and Community are preferred; however other subjects may be considered on a case-by-case basis).                                           

A minimum of five GCSEs are required, including GCSE English grade C or grade 4. GCSE Mathematics grade C or grade 4 is also normally required.

  • The BA Education programme aims to provide you with a broad and balanced view of educational theory, policy and practice within a range of educational contexts.
  • The course recognises the important blend of theory and practice, therefore it offers an integral placement module at each level that is intended to compliment your theoretical and critical study.
  • Each level presents numerous opportunities to develop a range of transferable skills, such as critical reflection, systematic analysis, communication, collaboration, presentation and writing.
  • The programme is aimed at applicants from diverse backgrounds. It offers a pathway into employment in a range of educational-related fields either on graduation or via further professional study such as Schools Direct, Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and Post Graduate Diploma Youth and Community (PGDipYCW).
